Pad ka praw, moo

Pad ka praw moo
stir fry pork with holy basil.

Too easy to make, fast and deciduous.
All you need are:
Garlic
Onion
Minced pork
Fresh chili
Holy basil
Some carrots for color or freshness
(Seasoning: fish sauce, oyster sauce, maggi sauce)

Start with browning your onion n garlic, add meat, and add basil last...seasoned as you like.
Walahhhhh!

Eat with steam rice ;)

Bachang!

Bachang is a triangular shape stuffed glutinous rice, wrapped in banana or bamboo leaves.
What's in them?
LOTS!
List is endless, started from glutinous rice, pork, Chinese saugese and mushrooms, chestnut, peanuts, salted egg yolk...and many more.

It easily took about 5-6 hrs to make ( preparation + cooking + steaming)

Tried to learn from my mom because my husband is obsessed with them..
After an hour, I throw my apron.
NO WAY. It's too much work.
Sorry ma...

Who needs a wash?!?!?!

Angkor Thom, Bayon Temple, Cambodia

Enigmatic face towers. My favorite temple so far in Cambodia. The second I stepped foot in the temple.  I felt like I was in another world, another time, another place.

The city of Angkor Thom is comprised of Bayon Temple,  Baphoun, elephant terrace and terrace of the leper King.

Ta Phrom Temple ( Tomb Raider)

Ta Phrom Temple,  part  of Angkor city; where Tomb Raider starred by Angelina Jolie was filmed.
Still shrouded in jungle,  left at its natural state.
It was very dark n enigmatic wherw magic still exist.
It was beautiful.

Curry muffins

Yes, most muffins are sweet,,,but I just love savoury muffins.
Just out from the oven.

Curry masala muffin.
Goodbye butter.
Substitute with virgin olive oil.

Filled with tomatoes, onion, garlic, a dash of sour cream, bacon and spring onions and yes of course masala curry.

Tiger temple

The Tiger Temple, Wat Pha Luang Ta Bua, Kanchanaburi, Thailand.

Note:
1. Follow rules.
2. Don't be an idiotic hero.
3. Follow dress code (no red color. For women, no shorts) out of respect for the Buddhist monks.

Had a blast of a time!!!
Worth visiting!

Pizza galore

After numerous....numerous attempts!
Finally, something that's edible.

I can't believe how many pizzas I've destroyed.

Finally, Italian sausage, with onion and capsicum. Delish

Before

After

The Retro cookbook, by Women's weekly.

Beautiful, fun and retro!

I was browsing the weekend market and I bought this book.
It tempted me with its retro pretty pink looks.
What the heck, too pretty to pass.

Tested some of the recipes... Delicious!
I also love the old fashioned recipes shared in this book.

This pretty thing consist of: canapés, dessert, lunch, dinner, breakie.
It's a well rounded book.

I will give it 4 1/2 stars out of 5.
It has picture to accompany every single recipe.
love love love
I totally recommend this book. No regret of coughing up $30AUD for it.
I found myself reaching for this beaute for inspiration.
Made me wanna cook and bake...beautifully.

Piece of cake and 750 best muffin

Ok, here we go. They are both GREAT recipes books.

750 best muffin recipes really do consists of 750 recipes.
Tested a couple...yummy. And not savoury muffins too!

Piece of cake, one bowl no fuss from scratch cakes are great too.
Real recipes, devided into types of cakes, bundts, cakes and special part for frosting.
I have to admit: great variety, no non sense book.

Camilla V. Saulsbury has done it.

However, I will give both books 3 stars out of 5 because I am a very visual reader.
I NEED PICTURES!

There are only a couple of pictures in both these recipes books.

Cool it!

YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!

Excited for the cool weather. Me me me!
Sad n pathetic as I am use to -15 Celsius.
But who cares, I'll take what I can!

Day and night

Day and night. Out from my balcony.

See the green spots all over the horizon?
Those are fishermen, catching squid

Daily ritual

Giving alms, my first experience, very humbling.
Managed to take a snap of this man who waited for these monks every day without fail.
What a dedication, amazing.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Oh dear, Mr. Peter Jackson has done it again.
Gripping from the start to the ending. The sceneries are out of this world!
The kiwis must be proud.

Long movie but I wasn't bored.
Who I am kidding, how could Tolkien bore me?!?!
And the dragon...oh my, bad ass and CGI - awesome.

Sure, I am pissed with the ending, freaking cliff hanger...but I will gracefully wait until the net time we meet again Bilbo!
